PARIS — The elegant Shangri-La hotel in Paris buzzed with excitement as over 500 guests filled the venue from the moment the doors swung open that early evening. Yet, it was the unmistakable energy of Nigerian superstar Wizkid that ignited the atmosphere, as he took the stage for a heartfelt performance of two of his most popular tracks, “Ojuelegba” and “Essence.” His captivating presence instantly transformed the gathering into a vibrant celebration.

Wizkid, widely recognized as a pivotal force in bringing the Afrobeats genre to international audiences, seamlessly carried the celebratory vibe into the after-party. Joined by close friends, including American R&B artist Brent Faiyaz and Imran Amed, founder and CEO of Business of Fashion (BoF), the party truly came alive. The dance floor soon filled with revelers eager to join in the fun, as inviting guests from the main stage and outdoor terrace, boasting stunning views of the illuminated Eiffel Tower, made their way inside.

As DJ Aymen pumped a dynamic soundtrack throughout the venue, the atmosphere remained electric, with a long queue forming at the Chase Sapphire photo booth. This booth quickly became the centerpiece of attention, particularly among the latest BoF 500 members. Loewe ambassadors Ayo Edebiri and Greta Lee made time for a fun photo, as did New York-based PR professional Gia Kuan and Chinese publicist Bohan Qiu, all eager to capture the memorable moments.

The festivities continued to flourish with the arrival of a Neft Vodka shot trolley circulating around the venue, ensuring that the energy kept building as the night progressed. Guests indulged and mingled, creating wholesome interactions among acquaintances and industry leaders, forging connections both old and new. The lively celebration encapsulated the very essence of camaraderie prevalent in the fashion community.

“It’s always a privilege to be here, reuniting with peers and individuals one admires,” remarked fashion commentator and BoF 500 member Bryan Yambao, famously known as Bryanboy, who sported a stunning floral Balenciaga dress for the occasion. “This gathering feels more than just a typical reunion; it’s truly a family reunion within the fashion world.”

The BoF 500 2024 event was made possible by generous partnerships with Chase Sapphire Reserve, NEFT, Shop With Google, The Shangri-La Hotel, and La Mode en Images.
